"I first came to Orca wellness in 2019. I had a real bad case of back spasm. I couldn't walk properly and even coughing and sneezing was intensely painful. I was diagnosed with herniated L4 & L5 long time ago and I was used to having consistent low back pain. All the PTs/Chiro I had met before Dr. Tello would just make me go through basic exercises with no end goal or progression. The way other providers talked to me made me scared to do any physical activity, which resulted in decline in my overall physical activity, which in turn resulted in weaker core strength and then BAMMM it all concluded with a severe back spasm.
I am a 4.0 tennis player now and play almost twice a week. I snowboard (started in 2020) during winters and enjoy back country backpacking in summers. Oh and I work out 3 times week which includes rehab work, strength training and Plyometrics workouts
Mental side - first thing Dr.Tello told me is his goal would be to make me fit to do activities I love and get me out of his office in less than X weeks. This was refreshing to hear and gave me ton of confidence.
Body work and Rehab - Dr Tello incorporated chiro techniques, sport massage as well as rehab techniques in our sessions to which my body responded very well. I had not seen anyone bring these 3 things together in one place
Strength training - We didnt stop at rehab. Once I was safely out of spasm, we started with dynamic movements and deadlifts and squats to make my brain remember the new good patterns of movement. This transferred well to all the activities I had been wanting to do.
Since then, I have used Orca wellness for injury prevention and general wellbeing. I couldn't recommend Dr Tello and Orca Wellness enough." Ankur M.
"Being active has been an integral part of my life. My interests include calisthenics, gymnastics, rock climbing and sprinting. While these activities give me unparalleled joy, it does take a toll on the body. I had to get adjustments every other week in order to stay pain-free. I sought help from Dr. Raul to come up with a plan to strengthen different muscle groups in order to reduce the imbalance and reduce the need to get adjustments frequently.
After seeking help from Dr. Raul, I've been able to be at the top of my fitness. I'm able to do muscle-ups, handstands, sprint faster; the list is endless. The stretches helped me strengthen my hip flexors and core. The need to seek frequent adjustments has reduced.

"1. Walking as a part of fitness 2. Standing for more than 10 minutes or so : Getting up from floor level ; was experiencing moderate to severe low back pain and knee pain .
1. I am able to walk for one hour ( i get 6000 steps ) in the mornings ; i walk 6 days in a week .
2. I can stand for longer duration say 20 minutes or so without pain
3. I can get up from lower seats ; with palm support i am able to rise from floor level
The Chiropractor Ms Tracy explained what the problem was ; Understanding the problem helped me to relate to Dos and Don'ts . She focused on my back issue in the beginning ; relieving the pain helped me to start my walk gradually . The exercises which were simple in the beginning motivated me to do it regularly ; gradually she made them challenging . She also explained which muscle group or which part of the body i should feel the stretch while doing a particular exercise . I feel this is very important to have effectiveness . I had about 15 sittings ( there could be a slight variation in this number ) during my stay in Seattle . Once my back pain receded she worked on my knee . She is very committed , friendly and has lot of empathy . The exercises are really helping me . She customized the exercises for both back and knee issue . The key is to doing the exercises regularly ; By marking on the exercise program every day i am able to self monitor my regularity . It is a very useful tool Orca Wellness has provided . The front office executives are also very warm and helpful . Overall I had a good experience and quality of my life has improved with the exercise sessions ." Ann V.

"I called Orca because I had a lower back injury while running. This injury was causing a lot of pain for a couple of days and it was really hard for me to concentrate at work and impossible for me to exercise
Doctor Tello explained to me not only the process for healing my injury but also explained the root cause for it and explained that the real problem was that I was not using my body as it was meant to be used. What I considered a straight posture was actually damaging my posture and weakening my back. I was misusing my legs and core and forcing my lower back to work in ways it is not supposed to.
I did not understand how the movements I was doing with my whole body were uncontrolled and that generated an injury in my lower back.
After Dr. Tello treated me I am now able to lift weights responsibly and to enjoy my cardio exercises more. I have become more aware of the movements that my body has to do in order to maximize the use of energy and minimize the impact to my back and my joints.
